The T95Z Plus is one of the latest Android TV boxes from Sunvell and features Android 6.0 with an Amlogic S912 Octa core 2.0GHz processor. RAM is a modest 2GB and there’s 16GB of storage. What truly sets the T95Z Plus apart from other TV boxes is its casing design. If you’re tired of the ubiquitous black box design featured on most Android TV boxes these days, the T95Z Plus offers a truly refreshing look. If Superman had an Android TV box back in Krypton, it would probably look like this.
In fact, I believe many would buy the T95Z solely because of its looks. Not only that, it is also one of the few models that offers a clock display. A key highlight of its design is the thin LED strip that wraps around the casing. Official product photos show a rainbow-colored LED strip. However, this is a bit misleading because the T95Z Plus doesn’t actually feature that rainbow lighting effect. Instead, the strip displays only one color at a time, changing colors every three seconds. The colors are green, blue and light blue.

Typically, official product images tend to look a lot better than the actual product and this is the case with the T95Z. Design and build quality isn’t too shabby, just don’t get your expectations too high if you plan on getting one.
The clock display is also slightly different from what’s seen in the official photos — with blue instead of white for the display. Also, bear in mind that the clock display will only be useful if you place the T95Z Plus in a small room. The display is quite small so if you’re standing more than five meters away from it, it can be difficult to tell what the time is.
Overall hardware performance is quite decent and the T95Z Plus is capable of playing 4K video at 60fps smoothly. With the latest Android 6.0, Amlogic S912 chipset and Mali T820MP3 GPU, you can rest assured that the T95Z won’t be obsolete until at least a few years from now.
I bought my T95Z Plus from GearBest together with a pair of earphones and the items were shipped amazingly fast via DHL — in a total of only 3 working days. GearBest usually ships fast when your order value is over a certain amount though I’m not too sure what that amount is. In my case, my order value was $89 for two items. Even for smaller orders, shipping times aren’t that bad either. I ordered a pair of $9 earphones once and they took two weeks to arrive. This is not bad considering that some online purchases without expedited shipping can take up to four weeks or more.
My T95Z Plus came with Kodi pre-installed along with a few dozen add-ons already configured. This is great for those who don’t want the hassle of installing add-ons and just want something that works right out of the box. The supplied remote control is small and light but comfortable to use. I’ve been using the T95Z for a few weeks now and it hasn’t been disappointing.
The Sunvell T95Z Plus is currently available for $62.99 at GearBest. Indeed, it is somewhat pricey — costing over $50. If you don’t need a clock display, a casing that stands out and an LED light strip there are Android TV boxes with similar hardware specs that sell for below $50. However, if you really find the T95Z too attractive to ignore, you can get it for a discounted price of $57.99 with coupon code ST95ZP at GearBest.
