Nokia to Make a Comeback with New Smartphone This Month

Written by Adrin S

Once the iconic juggernaut of the smartphone industry, Nokia is planning to make a worldwide comeback with a new flagship model on February 26. Those who have been following the news know that Nokia made a limited release of the Nokia 6 last month and while it signaled the Finnish company’s first comeback in producing smartphones, the Nokia 6 (pictured above) is only available in China.

Now there are rumors in the industry that Nokia is planning to unveil something big at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona, Spain. Not much is known about what the company has up its sleeves but many believe it is the much anticipated Nokia 8 flagship smartphone which will see an international release.

The Nokia 8 concept has been around since at least 2012 but nothing concrete has come out of it since so it’s not surprising if the upcoming Nokia event will see the eventual release of this much rumored model.

It is expected to feature either a Snapdragon 835 or 821 processor with a 24MP rear camera. Other expected details include a Sharp IGZ0 2K display and IP57 dust resistance. Like the Nokia 6, Nokia’s new mystery phone is also expected to feature Android for its operating system.
