Xiaomi Launches Its Own Watch

The latest release from Chinese tech giant, Xiaomi, is sure to grab the attention of consumers both within China and further afield. The Hey 3S is one of the most impressive products released by Xiami to date. Looking uncannily like the Apple Watch – another feature that will surely impress fashionable customers – it has been released under the Weloop brand.

The watch itself comes with a built-in GPS/Glonass accelerometer and heart-rate sensor. This means you can keep track of the number of steps you take all day, the distance you walk and the number of calories you burn. Not only that, the watch will give you an analytical look at your overall training routine. You can connect the Hey 3S to your smartphone, too. Using Bluetooth 4.2, it is able to keep you updated with notifications and calls, as well as accessing and playing your music.

The watch’s display is a 1.28 inch 176×215 pixel display and is water resistant up to 50 meters (giving it an ATM of 5). Overall, the watch weighs a mere 38 grams and has great accessibility, with two easily reachable buttons on its side. One of the Hey 3S’s biggest selling points is likely to be its battery, which gives continual usage for up to 30 days with just one single charge from its magnetic dock. Bearing in mind the number of tech features to be found on the watch, that’s an impressive amount of time.

At the moment, the 3S is only set to be released in China, where it can be yours for around $78 (RMB539). Considering, however, the growing popularity of Xiaomi products in the global market – including the US, Europe, SE Asia and India, it’s likely that this watch will eventually be made available for retail in those countries.
