Zeblaze THOR S Now Available for Pre-order at Just $99.99

Zeblaze has just unveiled its latest flagship smartwatch — the new THOR S. It is now available for pre-order at Banggood for just $99.99 — one of the best pre-order deals you can find for it on the internet. This special price is available for the first 1000 orders only so be quick if you’re keen to own Zeblaze’s most advanced smartwatch to date. Once the pre-order campaign is over, the price will rise to $130.

Unlike the earlier THOR which has a more minimalist design, the THOR S features a more rugged design, a front-facing 5MP camera, 316L stainless steel body, a faster Mediatek 1.3GHz quad core processor and replaceable straps.

Product Highlights
  • MTK6580 1.3GHz quad core processor
  • 1.39 inch AMOLED display
  • 400 x 400p display resolution
  • Corning Gorilla Glass 4
  • 1GB RAM / 16GB ROM
  • 350mAh battery
  • 5MP camera
  • GPS positioning
  • Heart rate monitor (optical sensor)
  • Accelerometer
  • Nano SIM ready (2G / 3G)
  • 316L stainless steel casing
  • Replaceable straps

In other words, it has all the bells and whistles of a full-blown smartwatch. It even includes a Nano SIM card slot so you can turn it into a fully functional smartphone. The only downside to the THOR S that I can see for now is the battery capacity which is a puny 350mAh.

Based on my experience of using the LEMFO LES 1 which also has the same battery capacity and similar features, a smartwatch such as the THOR S will only last 5 to 6 hours of use with all wireless features and GPS turned on. Trying to conserve battery power by turning off all wireless features, GPS and reducing screen time will only stretch the battery to about 14 to 16 hours.

This is because when designing a smartwatch with a built-in camera, it is simply not possible to cramp a larger battery in without making the smartwatch too bulky and heavy. This is probably the main reason why LEMFO released the LES 2 which lacks a camera and has a much larger battery compared to the LES 1.

For those who want longer battery life, avoiding smartwatches with built-in cameras is the only solution. Otherwise, be prepared to charge your watch at least twice a day if you intend to use most of its features regularly throughout the day.

Despite the small battery, the THOR S appears to be the most powerful smartwatch that Zeblaze has unveiled to date with features that puts it on par with other smartwatches from big name brands such as Apple and Samsung that cost three to four times more. With that said, the Zeblaze THOR S is one smartwatch that offers plenty of value.
